Once there, however, Claire and Owen discover that the plan is more sinister than they supposed, and in fact someone is preparing to engineer specially made dinosaurs for use as weapons. This project is going on under the nose of Benjamin Lockwood, the elderly and ailing former business partner of Jurassic Park founder John Hammond. Lockwood lives in a mansion set in the grounds of a large estate in nothern California, with his granddaughter Maisie. When Lockwood's aide, Eli Mills, arrages for the dinosaurs to be brought to the laboratory in the mansion's basement, it is up to Owen, Claire and Maisie to stop the extremely dangerous animals from being exploited for profit.
